Pinocchio Park in Collodi: A Journey into the Heart of the Fairy Tale

The origins of Pinocchio, the world’s most famous puppet, are deeply rooted in Tuscany, just near Pistoia. Carlo Lorenzini, author of the novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, spent his childhood in Collodi, the small village from which he took his pen name: Carlo Collodi.

Just a few kilometers from Hotel Villa Cappugi, Pinocchio Park is the perfect destination for families and fairy tale lovers. It is a large outdoor green area filled with big bronze sculptures depicting the main characters of the story: the Talking Cricket, the Blue Fairy, Mangiafuoco, and of course, Pinocchio.

One of the most popular attractions is the huge shark with its mouth wide open, which visitors can enter and play inside. Some steps lead to the top of the shark’s head, offering a beautiful view over the park.

The garden also offers plenty of activities for children: a mini-ivy maze, a horse carousel, a zip line, and many games surrounded by nature, making for a fun and educational experience.
