St George Library

San Giorgio is not a classic library. As soon as you enter, you find a large and bright space, given by the architectural recovery of the sheds of the former San Giorgio railway factory (directions). It is located in front of the Historical Rolling Stock and the old locomotives overlook the fence, a few steps from the entrance.

Everything you can do in a library is possible at San Giorgio: studying, reading a book or magazine, wandering from one floor to another, discovering what’s new, accessing loans and surfing the internet.

This place can be a point of reference even if you are visiting for the first time or if you are just passing through. The information desk at the entrance can help you overcome those small difficulties that often arise when travelling.

Here you can borrow a fan to cool off on the hottest days, reading glasses to see better, an umbrella to protect you from the rain, a laptop to study, work or simply surf the internet.

Among the furnishings, in addition to chairs and tables, there are comfortable armchairs for resting and, why not, taking a nap, before the next tour to discover Pistoia. Inside the structure there is also the Caffetteria San Giorgio, for a well-deserved break from studying or after a day spent visiting the city.
