Pomarium - Ten Days for amateur orchards

In September, the Park Nurseries Belfiore, floriculture company located on collline the Florentine countryside in the municipality of Lastra a Signa, held annually pomarium, exhibition dedicated to spreading knowledge of ancient plants fruit. The event brings together in the wonderful Park Nursery numerous exhibitors who have products related to fruit trees such as books and ancient and modern prints on fruit, magazines, natural fertilizers, and various preparations to defend organic crops; also many products derived from fruits and baskets crafts, ceramics and table fruit and vases on the terrace for growing fruit plants and finally fresh and dried fruit in many varieties, so long gone from the banks of the market.
You can buy fruit trees, several hundred varieties and sizes: these are particularly interesting collection of ancient Medici collection grapes, figs and plums ancient Europe.
The event is undoubtedly the most important nationally because it promotes the culture of the biological context of the fruit, not only through direct sales of varieties long gone, but thanks to the numerous conferences of specialists and tasting of fruit wine and old, to educational workshops for children and adults.
The event and all activities are free admission.
